Charming stay in historic Ragusa
Staying at Hotel Il Barocco was good. The elegant decor. The breakfast spread, with its fresh fruits and pastries, was a lovely surprise each morning.
One slight downside was the lighting in our room. Accessing parking could be tricky if all spaces are occupied.

Staying at this place was a nice experience for our whole family. The location was a major plus, being just steps away from the fine cathedral piazza. My kids really enjoyed the variety of breakfast items, especially the pastries and fresh fruit.
For dads, it would be great to have more kid-friendly activities available.

Central but reasonbly quiet. We could park our car outside. Very good breakfast with an enormous choice.
The bedroom walls were so thin we could hear everthing in the rooms on either side.

This place suits me perfectly! It has great amenities like free Wi-Fi, a cozy bar/lounge area, and air conditioning. The staff even helped me find a car service during my first stay, which I appreciated. I highly recommend trying the breakfast with those delicious packaged biscuits! I'm definitely coming back for a city break.

The hotel was pleasant, with very helpful staff at the front desk. This was the only hotel where we were not given our first choice of room. We did view what was first offered, declined, and was then shown the room type we had requested. The breakfast was adequate, the location excellent for exploring Ibla (able to walk everywhere and not use the car). It was a delightful place from which to explore a medieval town. We had a very nice meal at their restaurant around the corner.
Parking is a bit difficult, but the hotel has access to a sports field after 8PM where you can park at no charge. It's the time prior that might be a bit of a problem since not all streets allow full time parking.

Il Barocco is ideally placed to wander around Ragusa, and, if you have a car, to get to other sights/towns. The staf are friendly and cheerful, the room was spacious and clean. Breakfast was one of the best we had in our two week trip around Sicily. Their restaurant, just around the corner, is fantastic value and the best food we had in Ragusa, and the staff there were also very welcoming. Parking cuold be a probelm, but we managed to find a spot close to the hotel every night.
The hotel is a little noisy, you can hear the street noise (not loud) despite the windows and shutters being closed, and you can hear doors closing and people going up and down stairs - and yes if there is a noisy snorer in the hotel you can hear them!!! I would have like a light by the wardobe area as it was quite dark, but it would not stop us staying there again.

Il Barocco possesses an air of tradition with engaging decor and a comfortable environment. The breakfast was great, with a wide variety of fresh fruit, cold meats, and delicious pastries. An added touch was the availability of excellent coffee and a good selection of packaged biscuits, particularly the pistachio/almond variety. The staff were helpful and competent.
The lighting in the room was a bit dim for reading.
